FHP Breaks Ground On State Trooper Training Complex

Florida State troopers spend a lot of time behind the wheel... and they'll soon have a new place where they can sharpen their driving skills.

The Florida Highway Patrol broke ground on Tuesday on the state's Advanced Vehicle Operations and Training Complex at the Florida Public Safety Institute in the Tallahassee suburb of Havana.

The complex features a one-point-four mile driving track.

Officials say it enhances training for law enforcement by providing real-world scenarios.
