Authorities say that a Fort Lauderdale woman beat her 85-year-old mother to death after learning she left her out of her will.
Gabriela Perero, 53, is charged with premeditated murder and aggravated battery on a person 65 or older.
Investigators say that Perero became enraged after learning that her siblings would receive an inheritance and she would not. Perero allegedly retaliated by pushing her mother to the floor July 12, grabbing her by the arms and "ripping her skin off."
Police said Perero then cleaned her mother up, put her in bed and called 911.
The mother, identified as Luisa Perero, died the next day.
Perero was denied bond Monday.
