Gas Refinery Issues Blamed For Steep Prices Throughout The Sunshine State

Operational problems at Gulf Coast gasoline refineries are being blamed for a rise in gas prices across the Sunshine State over the past week.

AAA says today's (Monday's) statewide average for a gallon of regular is $2.80, which is up eight cents from the previous week.

The most expensive gas price averages right now are found in the West Palm Beach-Boca Raton area, at $2.89 a gallon, Miami at $2.84, and Crestview-Fort Walton Beach at $2.83.

On the low end are Punta Gorda at $2.74 and Tallahassee and Orlando at $2.76 a gallon.

AAA says some of the refinery issues have been resolved, while others could take weeks.
