A Monday morning crash in Hialeah involving multiple vehicles is causing traffic headaches during this mid-morning commute.
The crash took place at the intersection of Okeechobee Road and Le Juene Road, also known as Southeast 8th Street, near the entrance to the Airport Expressway. At least seven cars could be seen involved in a crash at that intersection.
A eighth car could also be seen on a tow truck nearby, but it was unclear if it was involved in the crash or a separate call.
Officials say the crash started when a driver hit several vehicles near Southeast 5th Street and continued before coming to a stop after hitting several more at 8th Street.
Officers did not give any details on that driver and whether or not they were arrested, but did confirm that two people were rushed by Hialeah Fire Rescue to area hospitals as trauma patients.
