Amazon's Sales Days Are News? July 6th Hysterical Headlines

Your daily doses of nonsense in the media and my takes on them.

Amazon has already kicked off hot Prime Day deals ahead of July 16 megasale - Sun Sentinel

Hot Take: How is this news? Is it news if Wal-Mart or Target does the same thing? Are we openly rooting against small businesses now or just front-running that which some in media prefer the most? Here's an idea. Rather than patronizing Amazon now-through the 16th - how about making a concerted effort to patronize small businesses in your neighborhood when possible instead? The last thing Amazon needs is free advertising under the guise of news. What most small, local businesses need the most is that very thing.

Next, from the NY Times, Senators Collins & Murkowski, It's Time to Leave the GOP

Hot Take: But Joe Manchin should stay a Democrat, right? Because West Virginia's values lineup real well with Brox-style socialism? Let alone, North Dakota, Indiana, Montana, Missouri, etc. Political desperation seems to have replaced any dose of political reality.

Lastly, Now You See the Brutality of ICE, Help Us Abolish It Linda Sarsour, Newsweek

Hot Take: So just to be clear. Being critical of FBI agents who say they can "smell Trump voters in a Wal-Mart" and that they'll stop Donald Trump from being President is "attacking law enforcement." But, alleging that 20,000 government employees working within the Department of Homeland Security across 46 countries are engaged in systematic abuse isn't?
