A Columbia University student and advocate against sexual violence from Southwest Florida is now facing child sex abuse charges.
New York authorities arrested 22-year-old Joel Davis earlier this week.
Davis has been accused of asking an undercover agent for nude photos of children under 10-years-old, exchanging explicit photos and text messages as well as telling an undercover agent he wanted to engage in sex acts with a 9-year-old and a 2-year-old.
Davis graduated from Port Charlotte High School.
According to WINK News in Fort Myers, he moved to New York and started an advocacy group called "Youth to End Sexual Violence."
He was also nominated for a Nobel Peace Prize in 2015 for his activism.
