Officials with the Broward County Sheriff's Office say a woman fatally shot herself late Wednesday during a traffic stop in Oakland Park.
Authorities said a sheriff's deputy pulled the woman over in the 800 block of West Oakland Park Boulevard.
The woman shot herself just after 8 p.m. as a deputy approached her vehicle, according to a police report.
The deputy stopped the woman's car because the vehicle had an expired license plate, BSO officials said.
The victim's identity has not yet been released. Authorities are investigating.
