Habitat For Humanity To Break Ground On New South Florida Community

Habitat for Humanity of Broward County will break ground Wednesday on a new community in Pompano Beach.  "A Rick Case Habitat Community" will boast 77 new affordable homes for families in South Florida.  The development will cover nine acres, have a children's playground and a public accessible park.

Nancy Robin, CEO Habitat for Humanity of Broward, says the program gives working families an opportunity to own a home with an affordable mortgage.

"The family at the end of the build has a mortgage, Habitat for Humanity is a mortgage company, we make the mortgage at 0% interest.  At the end of the road because of the volunteer labor and offset in cost, we're able to provide an affordable mortgage," said Robin.

She says they're building this community over the course of five years.
