Former Fins Player Threw Weights At Gym-Goer, Said Govt. Was Tracking Him

Police had to use two sets of handcuffs to arrest a shirtless, former Buffalo Bills & Miami Dolphins player at a Boca Raton gym after he allegedly threw weights at other gym-goers and claimed the government was following him.

Thirty-four-year-old Richard Dominik Incognito was arrested at the Lifetime Fitness Center on W Yamato Road Wednesday under Florida's Baker Act.

A fellow gym-goer, identified by authorities as 54-year-oldMark O'Brien, called police after he noticed Incognito "acting angry." According to O'Brien, Incognito threw a tennis ball at him, hitting his foot.

O'Brien told authorities that Incognito told him to "Get out of my f***ing playground" and tried to run him over with a weight sled. According to an arrest report, the former Miami Dolphin also threw a weight into the gym's pool and then attempted to throw another weight at O'Brien, but missed.

When police arrived on scene, gym staff notified the deputies that Incognito was still acting up, according to the arrest report.

According to authorities, Incognito told them that he was "running NSA class level three documents through [his] phone..." and could not have anyone with Bluetooth capability working out near him. Incognito told police he couldn't tell them anything else about his phone of government involvement because he was under contract, the report says.

Incognito also told officers that he had taken an over-the-counter supplement called "Shroom Tech," according to authorities. Incognito was shaking and acting/talking erratically, the report says.

According to the report, Incognito was under the assumption that ordinary citizens and gym-goers were actually government officials who were tracking him.

Incognito was placed under arrest via the Baker Act out of concern that his altered state could provoke him to cause harm to himself and/or others.

Because he was so muscular, officers had to use two sets of handcuffs on him, the report says.

Incognito played for the Buffalo Bills last NFL season.

In the buildup to the draft, he took a restructured contract with the Bills, publicly fired his agent on Twitter, and retired shortly after. The Bills officially added him to the reserve/retired list on April 12.

Once Organized Team Activities started around the league, Incognito -- according to ESPN -- wanted to make a return to the NFL, despite retiring from the league and team just one month prior. The Bills granted his reported wish, releasing him off the reserve/retired list on Monday.

The move officially made Incognito an unrestricted free agent, able to be signed by any other team.

An NFL investigation found that when Incognito was with the Dolphins in 2013, he and two others engaged in persistent harassment directed at teammate Jonathan Martin.
