Florida Man Accused Of Kidnapping Girlfriend, Stuffing Her In Trunk

Authorities in Volusia County have arrested a 42-year-old man who they say abducted his ex-girlfriend, forced her into the trunk of his car, and led police on a high speed chase.

Deputies responded to a report of an abduction at the Family Food Market in DeLand on Monday night. They found a woman who had a swollen face and a ripped shirt covered in blood.

According to authorities, the woman said her ex-boyfriend, later identified as 42-year-old Darrian Miller,  attacked her.

The victim said Miller made her drive around DeLand before demanding her to get out of her car. When she refused, she said he punched her, took her cell phone, bank card and money. Miller then allegedly forced her into the trunk of her own car.

The woman told the sheriff's office she used the trunk release to escape. As she screamed for help, she said her ex-boyfriend hit her again and tried to get her back into the trunk but she ran off.

Investigators said the ex-boyfriend, identified as 42-year-old Darrian Miller, sped away in her car.

Deputies spotted the vehicle a few hours later in Daytona Beach. The sheriff's office said Miller fled from deputies at speeds up to 120 miles-per-hour. The chase was caught on camera.

Authorities used stop sticks to bring the car to a halt and arrested Miller at gunpoin

According to authorities, Miller faces charges including carjacking, kidnapping, fleeing law enforcement, and battery.
