Breaking: North Korea May Pull Out Of US Summit

North Korea may pull out of the summit with the U.S. if Washington insists the North gives up its nuclear program.

State media cited North Korea's foreign affairs vice minister as saying the North would reconsider participating in the summit between President Trump and Kim Jong Un if the U.S. demands unilateral denuclearization for the North.

The statement added the Trump would remain "a failed president" if he follows in the footsteps of his predecessors.

The statement comes after the North reportedly threatened to pull out of the upcoming summit over planned military exercises between the U.S. and South Korea.

State Department spokeswoman Heather Nauert said the U.S. has not heard from North Korea and assumes the Kim-Trump summit is still set for Singapore on June 12th.

Nauert said the joint military exercises have been going on for years and are not provocative.
