Coast Guard To Offload 6 Tons Of Cocaine At Port Everglades

U.S. Coast Guard officials are offloading six tons of cocaine (with an approximate street value of $180 million) in South Florida on Thursday.

Officials say the drugs were confiscated over six different drug seizure missions on drug smuggling vessels in the Pacific Ocean.

Thursday's offloading will take place at Port Everglades.

“Each successful interdiction is another successful step towards protecting our respective borders and citizens from the rising threat of transnational criminal organizations,” said Capt. Mark Fedor, commanding officer the cutter James – one of the three Coast Guard ships involved in the seizures.
