Authorities say a Florida man was arrested after he walked into a gas station over the weekend and punched a 13-year-old stranger unconscious for seemingly no reason.
Pinellas County Sheriff's officials say the female vitcim was inside a convenience store Saturday afternoon while her parents pumped gas outside.
According to authorities, 27-year-old Kolbe Smith walked into the store and punched the girl in the face, causing her to fall to the ground.
Police say Smith was not provoked in any way and did not know the girl.
Several citizens stood outside the store and detained Smith until deputies arrived.
Authorities say Smith repeatedly resisted arrest so they deployed their Taser. They say he eventually admitted to being on LSD.
He is charged with aggravated child abuse, violation of probation felony battery and resisting arrest without violence.
