A Miami-Dade Police officer has been involved in a shooting on U.S. Highway 1 near the entrance to the Florida Keys.
As a result of the shooting, authorities say a vehicle flipped over and is now submerged in murky water near the scene at mile marker 114.
Florida Highway Patrol officials confirmed that shots were fired and that an officer was involved in the shooting.
No other information was immediately known.
Footage showed authorities had the southbound lanes of U.S. 1 at Card Sound Road in Florida City closed.
