An attorney from Miami Lakes has been charged in connection to a fatal, December hit-and-run.
Marcus Gonzalez-Balboa, who has practiced personal injury law for more than 40 years, was arrested on Tuesday.
Authorities say Gonzalez-Balboa is responsible for the death of Michigan resident, 26-year-old Tatum Holloway.
According to investigators, Gonzalez-Balboa struck Holloway with his car at the intersection of Miami Lakes Drive and Fairway Drive, and then drove off.
Gonzalez-Balboa now faces four charges, including:
- DUI manslaughter
- Vehicular homicide
- Leaving the scene of a crash
- Tampering with physical evidence
Gonzalez-Balboa is being held on a $150,000 bond.
Holloway’s family has filed a civil suit in this case.
