Police: Woman Purposely Slammed Car Into Sheriff's Station

Deputies are investigating after authorities allege a woman intentionally crashed her car into a Broward Sheriff substation building in Pembroke Park.

A red Toyota slammed into the building located at 3201 W Hallandale Beach Blvd at around 11:30 a.m. Monday. Following the crash, the vehicle could be seen inside the building.

At least one person, the driver, was transported to a nearby hospital as a trauma-alert patient. Officials say that at one point, the vehicle also caught fire, and the driver suffered from third-degree burns.

No word on any other injuries.

According to BSO, the woman who was driving the car intentionally plowed into the station because she was upset about something. What that "something" was remains unclear at this time.

Firefighters said they found some sort of accelerate inside the car, but they did not specify what it was.

The incident comes as the department continues to deal with the fallout over the actions of some of deputies in the Florida high school shooting.
