Pompano Beach firefighters and paramedics are saying a final goodbye to one of their own Wednesday morning.
Retired Chief Harry Small's funeral is taking place this morning at 10 at the First Baptist Church located at 138 NE First St.
After his final salute, a procession of fire rescue vehicles will take his body from the church to the cemetery for his private burial.
Small, who started with Pompano Beach Fire Rescue in 1978, served as chief from 2001 to his retirement in 2013.
He died on Feb. 22nd at age 69.
Small is survived by his wife Barbara Small, of Boca Raton; daughters Jennifer Halfon, of Lake Worth, and Holly Small, of Boca Raton; sons Michael Small, of Boca Raton, and Geoffrey Small, of Boca Raton, and eight grandchildren.
