Gas Prices Are Rising... But Maybe Not For Long

Gas prices across South Florida are on the up and up – but that could be changing soon.

The average price for a gallon of fuel rose nearly one cent to $2.66 in the past week – more than 15 cents higher than this point last month and nearly 29 cents higher than last year. It marks the highest February numbers in four years.

But AAA reports that prices started to drop toward the end of last week.

After initially rising by seven cents, the price declined by a penny each of the last three days – something attributed to the drop in energy prices in the stock market last week.

The cheapest gas in Miami is $2.45 at the Chevron station on NW 95th Street and 6th Avenue.

In Broward, you can fill-up for $2.55 at the Valero station on Powerline Road and NW 19th Street.
