One Dead, Others Injured In Crash Of Train Carrying GOP Lawmakers

One person is dead and two others are seriously injured after an Amtrak train carrying GOP lawmakers and their families collided with a trash truck outside of Charlottesville, Virginia.  

The train was headed from Washington, DC, to White Sulphur Springs, West Virginia, for a GOP retreat.  

Florida Congressman Carlos Curbelo was on board when the accident happened.

Initial reports confirm that most members of Congress, including Curbelo, are okay, but several sustained minor injuries.   

According to a report by the "Washington Post," the fatality and injuries involved the three individuals aboard the trash truck. 

Authorities say the truck may have been disabled and stuck the tracks.
