Esteemed Horse Race Gallops Into South Florida

The second annual Pegasus World Cup Invitational horse race is heading back to South Florida this weekend.

Twelve horses will take on the 1 1/8 mile track at Gulfstream Park on Saturday for the event that has a total purse of $16 million on the line.

The draw for starting positions will be held Wednesday at 11:30 a.m.

The Pegasus World Cup is the centrepiece of events throughout the week, including the Eclipse Awards on Thursday to honor the top animals and riders in horse racing. Saturday’s schedule includes seven preliminary races before the main event (with coverage beginning at 4:30 p.m. on NBC).
