Police say a Florida woman was placed under arrest after fatally beating her mother with a decorative elephant.
Melbourne police said Friday that 38-year-old Stefanie Dobson may have used the elephant or other "Asian-style decor" to beat Susan Dobson to death on Jan. 13.
Stefanie Dobson allegedly called police that day, saying she'd found Susan Dobson dead on the floor.
An arrest report says officers found no sign of forced entry, bloody partial footprints and blood-soaked towels that indicated someone had tried to clean up the area.
They also found $500 in her purse and other valuables that indicated robbery wasn't a motive.
