FPL Workers Head To Puerto Rico In An Attempt To Restore Power

Florida Power and Light crews looking to get the lights back on to thousands of Puerto Ricans who have been left in the dark since Hurricane Maria nearly four months ago.

Nearly 150 lineworkers and support staff flew to the island at 4 p.m. on Monday from Palm Beach International Airport.

Some of the FPL workers who volunteered are Puerto Ricans themselves and have family still living on the island.

FPL's Bill Orlove says they will stay as long as needed.

The Army Corps of Engineers has projected that power will be restored for most people by March, but those in rural areas might have to wait until May.
