Winter Weather Prompts Flight Cancellations In South Florida

Even though we didn't see snow here in South Florida, winter weather conditions are causing flight delays and cancellations at airports across the country, including our neck of the woods.

As of 8 a.m., Miami International Airport had 34 cancellations for Friday, while Fort Lauderdale / Hollywood International Airport reported 35 cancellations.

A majority of the flights cancelled at both airports are coming from or travelling to areas that have been dealing with the worst of the weather, including:

  • New York City
  • Newark
  • Boston
  • Philadelphia

Officials remind travelers to check with their airline to see if their flight has been affected by the winter storms, which is expected to continue through the weekend.
