There's still time to enroll in an Affordable Care Act Health Care Plan in Florida, but the window is closing...
The Trump administration shortened the enrollment period this year by six weeks. It was supposed to end on Dec. 15, but federal authorities granted the state of Florida an extension due to the busy hurricane season.
The deadline to sign up under the special enrollment period allowed to Floridians is Sunday (Dec. 31).
Florida has led the way in the number of sign-ups for years. As of Dec. 9, six days before the end of the open-enrollment period, 1,021,576 Floridians had signed up for the Affordable Care Act Health Care Plan.
