FIU Panther Play In College Bowl Game Tonight Against Temple Owls

The FIU Panthers will take on the Temple Owls in the Bad Boy Mowers Gasparilla Bowl, kicking off at 8 p.m. Thursday inside Tropicana Field in St. Petersburg.

With an 8-4 record, first year head coach Butch Davis led the Panthers to their first winning season since 2011 – when they also had eight wins and played in the same bowl game, where they lost to Marshall.

FIU is led this season by senior quarterback Alex McGough, who has thrown for almost 2800 yards and 17 touchdowns this season while improving his NFL Draft stock.

The Panthers finished second in the Conference USA East Divison, their best since joining the league three seasons ago.

All-time, FIU is 1-1 in bowl games.
