A Salvation Army "Coin Crusader" has once again donated rare gold coins in Pompano Beach just in time for the holidays.
First, two 1947 Mexican coins were discovered in the kettle at the Walmart Neighborhood Market at 1199 S. Federal Highway on Nov. 27. The same treasure was found in the kettle again on Wednesday.
"This mystery donor has certainly lifted our holiday spirits once again. These unique gifts help us highlight the incredible support needed for the programs that take place during the holidays and all year-round,” said Maj. Keath Biggers, Area Commander for The Salvation Army of Broward County.
The coins are similar to ones received in the past three years. Each time, they are wrapped in $1 bills and donated anonymously.
