Metrorail riders have something to celebrate today....
This afternoon Miami-Dade county officials will introduce a number of new rail cars to be added to the decades old fleet.
The cars will be phased in each month until the entire system is replaced.
According to Miami-Dade Transportation officials,
"As new Metrorail cars are phased in, riders will begin to see improvements in frequency, a reduction in delays, and a much more comfortable ride featuring:
1. Interior bicycle racks
2. Wi-Fi connectivity
3. Digital signs that display the name of the next station
4. High-quality audio announcements of the next station
5. Digital displays with media content (for advertisements, time and news display)high-efficiency air conditioning and more
All 136 trains are on track to run by 2019."
