It could soon be more difficult to keep track of officials in one South Florida city.
The Wilton Manors City Commission approved changes Tuesday night relating to how government-related travel is handled. More travel will be given the nod behind the scenes instead of being publicly aired at City Commission meetings.
Trips costing $1,500 or less can now be approved without a public vote.
Commissioners also voted to increase the amount the city will pay for breakfast, lunch and dinner for officials while on the road.
The city travel budget is currently $18,000 -- less than 1 percent of the total budget.
