Turkey-Frying Leads To Carbon Monoxide Chaos Inside Miami-Dade Apartment

A deep-fried turkey led to a chaotic Thanksgiving morning for one Kendall apartment building.

Miami-Dade Fire Rescue officials responded to the scene at 15221 SW 80th St, where one family allegedly started deep-frying their turkey inside the apartment on Wednesday night and woke up feeling ill Thursday.

The building was evacuated because of high levels of carbon monoxide.

The incident sent four people to the hospital. Three others were treated at the apartment.

MDFR workers gave the all clear by 10 a.m. Thursday.
