Have you noticed something fishy about your Nutella lately?
Thankfully, we don't mean fishy literally, but something DOES taste different!
Ferrero, the maker of the chocolate hazelnut spread, has changed the recipe.
A German consumer group noticed the difference and posted about it on Facebook, writing that this is the first time the recipe has changed in "many years."
The sugar content went from 55.9 percent to 56.3 percent, while skim milk powder went from 7.5 percent to 8.7 percent.
Ferrero confirmed to the Guardian that changes have been made, but add, "the quality... and all other aspects of Nutella remain the same."
Internet users, on one hand... don't seem so happy. Loyal customers took to various outlets to profess their love for the old recipe.
Nutella was created after World War II, when a cocoa shortage in Italy required pastry makers to get creative.
One chef, Pietro Ferrero, created the spread using hazelnuts, sugar and a bit of cocoa.
