Authorities say a Florida man accused of killing an 87-year-old Air Force veteran is dead after an apparent suicide in his jail cell.
Orange County Jail officials found 23-year-old Edward Marrero unresponsive in his cell Thursday.
He was taken to Orlando Regional Medical Center where he was pronounced dead around 3 a.m. Friday.
Marrero was in the Orange County Jail on charges unrelated to the accused murder.
He was waiting to face trial for the murder charge in Seminole County in the death of Wallace Dean Worman.
Worman was shot in his head inside his home on Norwhich Circle near Casselberry, deputies day. Worman’s neighbors found him Monday morning.
Officials say Marrero took Worman’s car and debit card.
Deputies found Marrero through a GPS tracking device of Worman’s car.
