Did you stay up late Tuesday night? If you did, you may have noticed Miami Marlins outfielder Giancarlo Stanton on ABC's "Jimmy Kimmel Live!"
A native of California, Stanton is spending part of his off-season in the Golden State.
Stanton revealed that he hasn't yet met with the Marlins' new ownership group, which includes former New York Yankee Derek Jeter.
However, he and the rest of the team plan to meet with the 'newbies' following the World Series.
“We’re going to get together after the World Series,” Stanton said. “Everything stays quiet until then.”
Stanton brushed off questions about trading, but said he wouldn't necessarily mind changing his position to designated hitter. That would imply a move to an American League team.
Jeter's ownership group hasn't revealed plans to change the roster, but did imply that it could be a long-term build for the Marlins.
Stanton was an MVP contender this year for the Marlins. But his future with the team remains very much in doubt.
