Key West's Fantasy Fest will go to the dogs... and cats... Wednesday night.
The annual Pet Masquerade begins at 5:30 p.m.
The family-friendly costume competition is open to all domestic animals and their owners, with prizes awarded in several categories including:
- Most exotic costume
- Pet / owner lookalike
- Best Fantasy Fest theme
According to the event's Facebook page, "In years past, more than 2000 people cheered over 60 entries and this year promises to be another fun packed event as children and adults walk, dance and even skateboard on stage with their favorite variety of pet or pets dressed in every costume imaginable."
Pet registration for the event is $25. All registration fees will benefit the Lower Keys Friends of Animals.
The celebration hits its stride Saturday night with the Fantasy Fest Parade.
