Halloween Retailer Under Fire After Marketing Children's Anne Frank Costume

An online retailer is under fire after it marketed a children's Halloween costume depicting Holocaust victim Anne Frank.

The costume, which was originally posted to HalloweenCostumes.com, shows a smiling girl wearing World War II-era clothing and a beret.

After debuting on the internet, the costume was quickly criticized on Twitter -- claiming the outfit trivializes Frank's memory.

Minnesota-based Fun.com runs the website. Spokesman Ross Walker Smith tweeted Sunday that the costume had been pulled.

He explained that the company sells costumes for activities other than Halloween, like "school projects and plays." He apologized for any offense caused by the costume.
