A popular cheese spread has been recalled after small bits of plastic pieces were found in it.
The recall strictly involves 14-ounce containers of Merkts Port Wine Cheese Spread.
Bel Brands USA, Inc. has issued a voluntary recall of products with a 9-1-17 production date and a “BEST BEFORE” date of 04-29-18.
Containers purchased after Sept. 1 should be thrown out or returned for a full refund.
The recall does not impact any other Merkts products, including other cheese spread flavors.
The company said no other products were affected.
Consumers who purchased the Merkts Port Wine Cheese Spread product should discard it. Anyone with questions is asked to contact 1-888-840-0096.
