New Pulse Memorial Dresses Orlando Crosswalk In Rainbow Colors

One street in Orlando is looking particularly bright and colorful, with the addition of the latest memorial to honor  those who were killed in the 2016 Pulse nightclub shooting.

The rainbow crosswalk memorial, at the intersection of Esther Street and Orange Avenue, was created in the early hours of Wednesday.

Workers from the city painted the crosswalk with the six colors of the Pride flag after the club’s owner, Barbara Poma, spoke with members of the community about what they wanted to be done.

Thousands signed a petition asking for the colorful memorial, honoring the 49 people who were killed in what was once the deadliest mass shooting in modern American history.
