The Florida Senate is back to full strength with the swearing-in of Annette Taddeo earlier Tuesday.
Taddeo won the special election for District 40 in Miami-Dade County.
During her swear-in ceremony, Taddeo told the Senate it reminded her of younger days when she ran the Dublin marathon during a tropical storm.
Democrats now have 16 of the 40 seats in the Senate and they dream of closing that gap during next year's elections.
