A Florida mother is accused of leaving her toddler alone in a vehicle over the weekend, while visiting an inmate in jail, according to authorities.
Twenty-one-year-old Rachael Etienne was arrested Sunday. She now faces a charge of child neglect.
Orange County sheriff's officers said corrections officials found the child while making rounds at the jail. The car was allegedly locked, turned off and the windows were slightly opened.
The temperature in Orlando at the time was 90 degrees Fahrenheit.
An arrest affidavit said surveillance video shows the child was in the car alone for about 18 minutes.
Authorities said the child was sweating profusely, but was otherwise uninjured.
The Department of Children and Families turned the child over to custody of a family member.
