(Washington, DC) -- Secretary of Health and Human Services Tom Price has resigned. Price came under fire this week for his use of taxpayer dollars to pay for flights on private jets. Thursday, Price said he would write a personal check to the Treasury for his expenses on the private charter flights used for government business. Price also said he and his staff would fully cooperate with the Health and Human Services inspector general's investigation and internal review into his use of the private flights.
President Trump expressed his disappointment in Price's use of the jets early Friday and said he would make a decision on whether to fire Price Friday night. However, the White House Press Secretary said the President has accepted Price's resignation.
