The South Florida Water Management District has approved a new, 2017-2018 Budget.
It will include millions of dollars to maintain flood protections systems as well as continuing to manage the Everglades restoration project without raising taxes.
Part of the budget will include $33 million for the construction of a reservoir in the Everglades Agricultural Area south of Lake Okeechobee.
Additionally, it will also put in $62 million to help refurbish and maintain the district's flood control systems and pump stations across South Florida.
