Giancarlo Stanton Slugs 56th Homer Of The Season With The Marlins

Giancarlo Stanton slugged his 56th home run of the season Wednesday night, to help power the Marlins to a 9-2 win over the Mets at Marlins Park.  

Stanton has 10 games left to match the 61 home runs hit by the Yankees' Roger Maris in 1961.

The Marlins are off Thursday.  

Miami begins its final road trip of the season Friday night with the first of three against the Diamondbacks.  

They then play three at the Rockies starting on Monday.  

The Fish are 72-and-80.
