With the fiscal year ending at the end of the month, local government officials have to act fast.
Both Miami-Dade and Miami commissioners are holding their first budget hearings Tuesday evening.
Both of their initial hearings had to be canceled due to Hurricane Irma.
Second and final budget hearings haven't been scheduled yet.
In Broward, Pompano Beach is also holding its first rescheduled budget hearing tonight, with the second following next Monday.
