Nearly 500,000 STILL Without Power In The State Of Florida

If you're reading this on your home's computer, the good news is that you're probably not in the dark.

A week after Hurricane Irma's hit to South Florida, the lights and air conditioning are back on for the vast majority of Floridians.

The state emergency management division reports that power has been restored for 95 percent of homes and businesses.

However, that leaves about a 500,000 utility customers throughout the state without power.

The counties with the most, still-present outages include:

  • Collier with 85,000
  • Lee with 78,000
  • Miami-Dade with 65,000
