AAA: "FL Gasoline Supplies Could Take Up To A Week To Return To Normal"

The state of Florida may have to wait up to a week for gasoline supplies to return to normal in the wake of Irma.

AAA says the hurricane caused a huge spike in demand as Floridians rushed to fill gas cans, generators and top off their tanks before the storm hit, causing outages at several gas stations.

Meanwhile, pump prices continued to rise with the statewide average for a gallon of regular now at $2.71, up four cents from a week ago.

The most expensive gas in Florida is in the West Palm Beach-Boca Raton area, where the average is $2.79 a gallon.

The least expensive gas is in Pensacola at $2.65.
