Irma: On A Path To Southwest Coast Of Florida

After touching down in the Florida Keys Sunday morning, Hurricane Irma is continuing her way toward the southwest coast of Florida.

By mid-afternoon Sunday, Hurricane Irma was advancing at about 12 mph toward Florida's southwestern corner, which includes Naples, Fort Myers and Sarasota, according to forecasters.

As of 4 p.m., harsh winds and fierce rain lashed the city of Naples. Peak wind gusts reaching 104 mph were reported in the area.

The storm has the potential to hit the heavily populated Tampa-St. Petersburg area by Monday morning.
