Two Bitten By Rabies-Infected Fox In Delray Beach

Officials say that a rabid fox is responsible for biting two men near a South Florida work site.

The animal appeared "sick and aggressive" when it was captured Thursday in Delray Beach. It tested positive for rabies.

Rabies can be fatal to humans.

Health department officials said a man who was bitten Sunday received treatment and will need follow-up rabies shots. The second man, who was bitten and scratched Monday, has already started his rabies shots.

Signs have been placed in the area warning of a possibility of more rabid animals in Delray Beach.
