Sen. Nelson To Discuss Proposed Bill To Cap Loan Rates With UF Students

U.S. Senator Bill Nelson is making several stops in north Florida Tuesday, including the University of Florida campus in Gainesville.

Nelson's office says the Florida Democrat will meet with UF students to discuss legislation he's filed to cut student loan interest rates.

That bill would permanently cap interest rates for undergraduate students at four percent and allow borrowers with existing student loans to refinance at a new lower rate.

Nelson wants to hear from the students how the measure would make it easier to pay off their student loan debt.
