Coast Guard Seizes 3.1 Tons Of Cocaine Off Port Everglades

U.S. Coast Guard officials unloaded 3.1 tons of cocaine worth $85 million off of Port Everglades Monday.

According to the U.S. Coast Guard, the cocaine was seized in international waters. 

Presence of the U.S. Coast Guard has increased recently, especially along the eastern Pacific Ocean and Caribbean Basin.

These areas are well-known drug transit zones off of Central and South America, authorities say.
