Sen. Nelson To Discuss Maduro Regime With Venezuelan Leaders In Miami

Senator Bill Nelson will meet with Venezuelan community leaders in Miami Friday afternoon.

Nelson is looking to them for advise on what Congress needs to do to help the people of the South American country. He wants the President to impose "even tougher" sanctions on the Maduro regime, including a ban on some Venezuelan oil.

This meeting comes on the heels of former Caracas mayor Antonio Ledezma being released from intelligence agency custody Friday morning and returning to house arrest.

Fellow opposition leader Leopoldo Lopez remains behind bars.

Ledezma and Lopez were jailed Tuesday after being accused of destabilizing the government of President Nicolas Maduro.
