Is Gov. Candidate Adam Putnam Taking After Presidential Candidate Trump?

A Republican candidate for governor appears to be adopting tactics that proved successful for former candidate for president, Donald Trump.

Agriculture Commissioner Adam Putnam is generating controversy by his recent tweets.

This past weekend, Putnam went on Twitter to urge supporters to join him and, quote, "Tell CNN to stop spreading fake news."

Before that, he tweeted that he's proud to call himself a "sellout" for the National Rifle Association.

Putnam is getting negative reaction from members of his own party, including one GOP activist who urged him to avoid, quote, "populist drivel and false flags."
